  1. Issues with Touchpad

So I recently got a new laptop and I have a few issues with my touch pad I cannot fix.

I have my screen to turn off after a few minutes on battery and when it does I cannot "wake" it with my touch pad like I could with my old laptop. Instead, I have to press a random key on the keyboard for the screen to come back on. Is there a way to turn the screen on with the touch pad?

A more annoying issue is that each time my screen turns off, Windows logs me out and I have to log back in. I checked in the system settings Settings>Accounts>Sign In Options but noticed that I cannot change "Require Sign In". I Googled around and learned that for some reason I cannot fathom when you use super-convenient biometrics to login Windows disables the "Require Sign In" option and sets it to "Always". Why is this? I found a lot of people talking about this but predictably no resolve.. at least non I could find.

But the worst Issue I'm having is that after the screen turns off And logs me out in the proccess once it comes back on Via keyboard presses I have no mouse! You can see the cursor on the login screen but it does not move, then after I login it disappears completely and the touchscreen simply doesn't work.

After this has happened multiple times I can do one of the following:

    1. Restart to get it back.
    2. Insert my USB wireless mouse I just so happened to have spare
    3. Wait a varing amount of time for it to start working again on its own accord. This has happened but it takes from a few minutes to hours.

Now to be clear when this happens the computer is NOT entering sleep mode, simply the screen turns off. I thought that it may be powering it off with the screen or something but after checking the bare power options My old laptop had far more advanced power options, but that's yet another issue I couldn't find anything related. I checked Dells website for touch pad drivers but not at all are issued and I'm guessing just standard Microsoft ones are used. I did update the "HID Events Filter" driver but made no difference.

Also each time this happens there's an error in the Event Viewer "An attempt to configure the input mode of a multitouch device failed." so it has something to do with MTConfig since this is where the error is originating from. Again I Googled it and there's results few & far between with no clear resolve.

Of course I could easily disable screen turning off and just login with a boring old password but what kind of a fix is that?

    :)
