  1. Issues with Windows 10 v1809 update

The last two Windows 10 updates have both caused me significant problems.

The 1803 update caused issues with the geolocation service in IE (it fails).
I reported this as a bug with v1803 in May. MS released a fix in June but it didn't work. Reported it again that month. Still not fixed

So I uninstalled v1803 reverting to v1709 & blocked further updates for the maximum time available - approx 3 months I believe.
Unfortunately I was away when that period ended & returned to find it had reinstalled itself ... hello I'm back (with the same issues). Grrr!

So it seemed worth the risk to allow the 1809 update when it was offered almost immediately afterwards hoping it would fix various issues
Sadly not as version 1809 immediately caused the following issues for me
    1. Virtual Box had to be removed to install the update. Afterwards I reinstalled it but it no longer works
    2. My Comodo code signing certificate cannot be used so I can't code sign my software
    3. Geolocation data service still fails in IE.

I've reported all three items to Oracle, Comodo & MS (via Feedback)

All of these issues seriously affect my ability to test and distribute Access applications.

So I've just removed v1809 after only 2 days and have tried unsuccessfully to connect to an MS agent or arrange a callback to discuss the latest issues.

I've reverted to 1803. The code signing certificate works perfectly again but the other 2 issues remain.
I'm considering doing a fresh install and stop at v1709 if I can still do so.

Before I do so, does anyone else have experience of the above issues and even better, a solution/workround for these

    :)

  2. New install Windows 10 (issue solved)

It's good that you're not experiencing any issues. Unfortunately many folks are, a quick Google search will show the same info im offering the OP.

    Heres a couple examples:

    Here

    Here

It's basically what I mentioned above, small issues here and there ,but nothing to end your day.. for the most part.

I know it's anecdotal, but for my experience 95% of the time it's perfectly fine. The issues I've run into wouldn't be enough for me to roll back , but they would be enough (had I not installed it yet) ,to avoid it for another couple weeks which is why I'm suggesting it to the OP

    Try this method:
    • First of all from Start Menu, open Settings (Type settings in the search bar and it will appear).
    • locate and select “Update and Security“.
    • in this window, Locate “Advanced Options”. Click on it.
    • In Advanced Options; Click on “Choose How Updates are Delivered“.
    • Turn off Updates from more than one place.
Your system will not work as a seeder for other Windows 10 users. It will give sudden boast to your Slow internet speed.

Issues with Windows 10 v1809 update

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK
