Windows 10: Issues with windows update and staring actions on win11

Every update since Windows 11, version 21H2: KB5027223 OS Build 22000.2057 and Windows 11, version 22H2: KB5027231 OS Build 22621.1848 I've been unable to update my OS and get the "Something didn't go as planned" error message when I do attempt to install an update. There's also been issues with defender being unresponsive, which I've attempted to fix by using this guide. Not sure the two are related. my current version is Windows 11 10.0.22621 build 22621, winver is 22H2 the PC is an OMEN by HP 40L GT21-0000i.

Definitely not an issue with the Windows Servers as I just re-installed yesterday and got all my updates.

It works, but I still need to fix it so that way I dont have to plug computers directly to the modem to get windows update to work. It was also blocking me from installing directx.

If your wireless router has a built in firewall maybe it's somehow set to block the ports that Windows updates use?

I'd also suggest if it works with it being directly connected then you could try resetting your router to see if this fixes the issue.
