  1. It looks like an update wiped out my passwords in Microsoft Edge How do I get them back?

Just yesterday my computer went through some kind of a system update. Before the update everything was going just fine. After the update I tried to log into one of the standard sites that I use regularly. The user ID, instead of showing up automatically was not there, and no password either.I went to Edge Settings / Passwords and the app is telling me that there are zero passwords. This is not good because for at least one site, an online bank, they gave me a numeric ID and password. I am going to have a hell of a time recovering all this ****. What the **** happened? The only thing of sign

    :)

  2. Problems with Microsoft Edge after Updates

    Hi,

I suggest you to clear all browsing data and cache files from the Microsoft Edge browser and check if it helps. I would suggest you to try the following steps and check if that helps.

    • First of all launch Microsoft Edge Browser.
    • After that click on “More action” option which is visible at top right side of the browser and you will see “Settings” option.
    • Under “Settings” scroll down and you will see a button “Choose what to clear” under “Clear browsing data” option.
    • Once you click on this option you will see list of feature like
    • Browsing History
    • Cookies and saved website data
    • Cached data and file
    • Download history
    • Form data
    • Password.
Hope this information is helpful. Please get back to us with the information required, if you need further assistance, we’ll be glad to assist you.

Well, they do. But all other passwords were wiped out as well.

These included passwords for all the medical organizations that I use.

There are probably others as well.

Is there any way to export the saved password information?

I have kept a separate, manually created record of sites, user IDs, and passwords, but I don't think includes everything that was stored in Edge.

This is a royal pain in the ****.

FYI: I was able to find the original letter that gave the bank user ID, and I remembered the password that I use for that site. But I am still pissed that all the saved passwords were wiped out.

If Microsoft were doing its job, that information would be encrypted and backed up multiple times. (IMHO)

    Edge refusing to delete passwords

    Hello all,

I've started using a password manager and I am trying to tell Edge that I want all the stored passwords deleted - they are now handled by the password manager.

I followed the last step of your tutorial here: How to Delete Saved Passwords for Sites in Microsoft Edge Chromium

However, when I select Passwords (I have 700+) and I confirm, Edge takes me back to the previous screen but passwords are not being deleted. I can try as much as I want, passwords are always displayed - and suggested, despite the "offer to save password" is disabled.

    Any help please?

    Thanks!

    - - - Updated - - -

    quick update

I did not realise that I can navigate to the "Passwords" screen and select them all. Then delete them all. So, problem solved.

Still, the option to remove all the passwords in "clear browsing data" does not work It looks like an update wiped out my passwords in Microsoft Edge How do I get them back? :)

    Thanks!
