Windows 10: It seems like my Documents and Download folder has merged

    Whenever i go to my files i see on quick access that it has the name "Documents" but still has the download logo. Do I need to worry about this and if so how do I fix it?

  2. Downloads folder is the Documents folder

    Hi Chris,

    Thank you for posting your query on Microsoft Community.

    I suggest you to Restore to Default the folders and document settings and see if it helps.

    Step 1:

    Please follow below steps and check if it helps.

    • Go to Download folder.
    • Right click on the Download Folder and go to Properties.
    • In Properties go to Location tab.
    • In location Tab Click on Restore Default.


    Step 2:

    Please follow below steps and check if it helps.

    • Go to Documents folder.
    • Right click on the Document folder and go to Properties.
    • In Properties go to Location tab.
    • In location Tab Click on Restore Default.
    After performing above steps change the settings as you required and check if it helps.

    Merge Document Folders

    Bob,

    After you have put E:\Documents in Quick access, you can then consider the additional steps in post #11

    And this would also be a good time to review your backup planning.

    Merge Document Folders

    Perhaps they 'relocated' the user folders to the E:\ drive so that the main drive would then be clear for reinstalling the OS.

    I'll be ready for your questions about the additional steps in post #11 and your backup planning.
