Windows 10: It still uses internet connection? (brother being a pain)

The scenario is this: the internet we got is the "so-called" best wireless internet we can get in the town we live in, but truth be told, its crap. The internet speeds we think we should be getting aren't fast enough; the only faster internet is fiber optic but our block isn't wired for it, and from what I read on satellite internet, its faster but we won't be able to play games that require good connection like FPS multiplayer games or racing gam

lately, my older brother is being a pain in my backside with the internet connection, thinking its either the people in town logging on/doing their thing, kids coming back from school, etc..., or its my fault (im getting real tired hearing this everytime nothing else works), but NOW, he's blaming my android phone

My samsung galaxy s7 is set to keep wifi on while charged, to lessen the consumption of the 4G LTE data we got (but due to costs and money issues, we may drop that in the future, stick with unlimited talk & text) while im sleeping and im using the alarm, or its charging because reasons. I told my brother I have this set on my phone, and now he's being a bigger pain, blaming both me and my phone for hogging the internet connection just because he thinks its "reserving" internet or some lame excuse

Can you debunk this latest excuse of his for me, tell me if my phone can take enough wifi connection while idle to negatively affect internet speeds or not? And if he won't believe this forum, is there a professional IT person I can talk to that knows more than he does, so HE can tell him to stop being a baby about everything, and the answer is "Get Better Internet"

I should point out, I have Netguard installed on my phone, and most if not all the apps on there (either ones I installed, or the system required un-installables) have rules set so they cannot use the 4G data (except for the AOL e-mail app and 2 others) and can only use the wifi

Brother printers - wireless connection


I have two Brother printers: HL-2270DW and MFC-L2700DW. If the internet connection goes out for any reason, it's a nightmare for both printers. When the internet connection is restored, they still will not print, even when the WLAN report says Connection OK. But here's the worst part - there seems to be nothing I can do to fix this, except to wait. Eventually they'll start working normally again, and I have no idea why. Could be a few hours or maybe a few days, but then all of a sudden they're back. Until the next outage. Even a complete reinstall doesn't always work (and is obviously a pain to go thru each time). Any suggestions? Thanks!

 

Brother printers - wireless connection


Yep, over the years I've contacted Brother by phone and online chat and email. They have a list of stock responses, none of which have solved the problem. Their printers work great when they're actually working. But the wireless issues are maddening. With other printer brands, my experience has been different - when the internet connection is restored, the printers automatically reconnect to the wifi SSID and work properly again, immediately. But for some reason this does not happen with Brother, even when their printers have reconnected.
