Windows 10: It will not let me uninstall these two java updates.

Whenever I click uninstall this window pops up and I cant do anything about it. Is there some way I can force remove these two things off of my pc.

Uninstall JAVA program-How?

In most cases, Windows Add/Remove Applet Program can not help pc users to completely uninstall & remove stubborn programs and applications. It seems that you have to successfully remove the related settings and files of JAVA. It’s not hard to
uninstall Java from your computer, but it’s not simple to uninstall it completely.

To uninstall JAVA totally, you nee to clean up the related files in computer registry with these steps:

1.Go to Start and then Run.

2.Type in regedit in the edit field.

3.Go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/uninstall

4. Under this uninstall, you will find many registry entries within curly brackets.

The registry keys for Java will have a value name that includes Java2 for example: Java2 SDK,SEv1.4.1_02.

• Highlight the Java registry key you want. Right click on the registry key and choose delete. Confirm the delete and click Yes.
  
• Restart your Add/Remove Programs to see if the Java icon is gone.

If you are not familiar with pc registry, it is not recommended to do any changes in registry. In order to uninstall JAVA safely and thoroughly, you can turn to a mighty uninstaller for help.

 

Java, or Not

I restored a system image, which put Java back on my machine. Then I ran the official Java uninstall tool. As far as I can tell, it didn't do any more than uninstalling using the Control Panel Programs and Features uninstall process. The Java folder still appears in the Start Menu (I now know I can delete this whole thing easily). And the Toolkit v7 is still there.

So, what do I have to do to get rid of Toolkit?

zebal, you mentioned 'System->Apps.' I assume you meant Settings>Apps. I didn't think after I restored the system image to go there and see if Java is listed, but even if it was, I doubt uninstalling from there would have produced different results. At any rate, it's not listed now. And thanks for all the steps you recommended. If necessary when this is (almost) over, I'll check into them and see if there's something there. But I assume an uninstaller should take care of most of that kind of thing.

So, do I have to choose an uninstaller, restore the system image again, and uninstall using the uninstall program? I can tinker with at least some remnants and delete them. Again, my main concern at this point is getting rid of Toolkit.

After my last post I decided to search the web on the deletion of the toolkit.

It's as simple as deleting the file 'npDeployJava1.dll' from C:>Windows>System32. Oh, the joy!

I'll entertain any final thoughts, but unless something unexpected happens, the problem has been solved.

Java updates?

I got a notification on my system at boot up this morning wanting me to install a java update.

IIRC, in Win 7 it was suggested that java should not be run at all.

Is java on Win 10 safe and should I allow updates to Java?
