Windows 10: it wont let me change the owner of the pc or access anything on my c drive

I cant download games, apps or anything because it says the access to C:\ is not accessible how would i fix this?

I was trying to solve a problem I had with accessing several folders, following the steps on a web site, and

I got a message that the owner of the C; drive was being erased!

Since then I have no access to the c: drive, I keep getting "access denied", "you don't have the proper permissions", "you don't have read permission", and when I finally got into Safe Mode and clicked on C:/properties/security, it said "Owner: Unable to
display current owner".

I've tried more methods than I want to list trying to get ownership of the C: drive and set permissions back where they belong.

Where is the c: drive owner entered? Would I need to RegEdit? If so, please provide step by step because all I know about RegEdit is that it's dangerous to mess with.....

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

Hi,

I created a problem for myself. I have changed the security settings to access the c:\ drive. I meant to change this for additional users, but changed it for all users.

Now I get this error notification: "Access is denied" - "Unable to display current owner"

How can I fix this.

I had contact with the helpdesk, suggestion was to do a clean install. But my pc is not working with me.

if i am trying to save a file in C drive or like in desktop it shows me you need administration permission , so i changed C drive owner permissions and hit apply but i had a error where it say access denied to change permission
