I'm doing a transcription for one of my research assignments for my uni and it sucks to keep stopping and writing down what someone has said in a video. The video is 11 minutes and I've been writing for the last hour or so.

I would love to be able to use Cortana to act as a transcriptor by converting the audio from a video into plain text. From there, it would be trivial for me to edit and add the necessary grammar.

Autoscroll function and speech to text?

Speech to text in Windows 10 is an option once you have set up Cortana. It is capable of voice recognition and will translate your voice into text on MS Word. But even if you use a sensitive microphone, it is not as accurate as speech to text pro which is an app that uses remote web services to perform speech to text conversion.

Speech to Text on Windows 10 Mobile (On Lumia ICON-Verizon)

    Hello,
    FT-1960
    .

Thank you for posting your query to Microsoft Community. I understand that the speech to text function has been removed from your messaging and email after upgrading your Lumia ICON to Windows 10 Mobile.

You can use the speech to text function by using Cortana.

    Please follow the steps below:

    1. Launch Cortana.
    2. Tap on the Mic icon.
    3. Say the keyword "Send a text message".
      • Cortana will ask who do you want to text. Provide the contact name of the person whom you want to text and the text message that you want to send.
    4. Cortana will then ask if you would like to send or add more. Press the
      Mic icon
      again and say your command.
I understand that this process may be tedious. Please use
    Feedback Hub
app to help make Windows Mobile better. Share your suggestions and concerns by using the said app.

You may also use a third party app called
    Text-To-Speech
    .

    Hope this helps.

Feel free to post back if you need further assistance.

Autoscroll function and speech to text?

    Dear Rarara!
You should find this MS Support article "Use Speech Recognition" both interesting and helpful. I agree with the previous poster that 3rd-party products (such as Dragon Naturally Speaking, in addition to his suggestion) are better for those in need of more serious and capable speech to text solutions.
