Items Missing after 2019-02 1803 Updates

Sometime after the 2019-02 1803 Updates installed 2/20/2019 and the second version of Kb4023057 installed on 3/2/2019, some items on the Start Menu Tiles and Start Menu list were gone.

Windows Run utility was gone from the Start Menu Tiles. And a few more tiles were gone.

The System group now only has Task Manager. It used to have a list of program shortcuts. like 3 Power Shells, command processor. and other system programs.

I really do not use or have a need for Power Shell.

The Windows Run utility is most useful, when installing programs. Without it on has to use Explorer to go to the location for a new program setup, then close explorer after it the program setup begins.

I did search the Programs subdirectory and it looks like Power Shell is still installed.

I do not know what the file name is for Windows Run utility and I have not been able to find anything for Windows Run.

    :)

    Spoiler Office 2019
Last year at Ignite, we announced Office 2019 – the next perpetual version of Office that includes apps (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, and Skype for Business) and servers (including Exchange, SharePoint, and Skype for Business). Today we’re pleased to share the following updates:

    • Office 2019 will ship in H2 of 2018. Previews of the new apps and servers will start shipping in the second quarter of 2018.
    • Office 2019 apps will be supported on:
      • Any supported Windows 10 SAC release
      • Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2018
      • The next LTSC release of Windows Server
    • The Office 2019 client apps will be released with Click-to-Run installation technology only. We will not provide MSI as a deployment methodology for Office 2019 clients. We will continue to provide MSI for Office Server products.

    02/2019 Updates

I managed to install this update on my 4th attempt. This is what I did but I don’t know if it will work for you.

I ran the Windows Update Troubleshooter in Settings. This returned ‘Potential Windows Update Database Error Detected in Windows 10’.
If you get this error too then the following article should help.

    https://www.****/knowledge/fix-potential-windows-update-database-error-detected-in-windows-10/

I carried out Steps 1 and 3 only, then ran Check for Updates, downloaded and installed KB4487044 and held my breath.
    But it has installed successfully.
