Ihad a security aleart appear on my loptop. told my to call 0800 number within 5 min or windowsx would shut my laptop down. whitch i did. he said he was windows support. he would help downloaded some progammes on to my laptop and start clearing issuse he said but could not remove malwhare. and if i payed 170 i would recive 24 hour siupport, spyware progames, vpn from microsoft tec. he put on zoho assist, anydesk, za connect, ultraviewer. then said i could have a senuors disscount 59 one off sent me a txt message with bill 170 pay to giftstation. anyone help me. also window messages come up i n

Microsoft Exclusion List for Anti-virus

Apparantly, Microsoft posted a list of files that can be "Excluded" from any Anti-Virus that you use to help with scanning performance.

Virus and Threat Protection Warnings

ETD_GetSMART.exe is HP Software and it is safe, that software is designed to check your hard drive for imminent failure and warn you

You can add that to the list of safe files in Controlled Folder Access to get rid of this warning

Open Windows Defender Security Center

Go to Virus & threat protection - Virus & threat protection settings

Scroll down to Controlled folder access

From there, you can add an app to the list of safe or allowed apps to prevent them from being blocked

ETD_GetSMART.exe is located in the following folder:

C:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\HP Support Framework\Resources\HPActiveHealth\Executable Agent Data\_Shared\DiskCheck\

 

Virus Warning

Hi, I have the following Virus Warning in the centre of my screen:

Virus Warning

Program integrity check failed.

Please check for viruses on your computer.

If program is not infected, it had been patched

There is a yellow exclamation mark warning symbol to the left and the option of X in top right of box or OK in a box below.

I am running Windows 10 with the latest BT Virus Protect using McAfee which is not showing any problems.

I have closed down all programs and powered down computer but the warning returned after powering up the laptop again
