  1. It's August 18 and modern standby is still a fire and safety hazard that destroys battery life

I had the exact same thing happen today as yesterday. I closed my laptop and put it in my bag for the drive home, and when I got home 20 minutes later it was burning hot. There's no reason my laptop should be waking up after I've closed the lid when I have it set to lid = sleep. At least add a feature that puts it back to sleep if the heat sensor gets above a certain range. It's amazing that this has been an issue for over a year and as far as I can tell Microsoft has done nothing at all to address it. On my desktop I still have the option in device manager to set my network card to not be abl

    :)

Microsoft windows 10 2004 version update overheat fire hazard

When the update is so hazardous to one's life in real life that their laptops are going to become the next Samsung Note7, you know something is seriously wrong with the update.

I have done so many changes in my laptop since the update before I managed to find out that the overheating is totally due to it, that rolling back to prior version is a huge hassle.

Seriously how hard can it be to add in something for the user to disable modern standby mode? This "feature" almost cause my laptop to burn to a crisp had I not intervene earlier.

The update modern standby mode overwrites my laptop's fan systems as well (it wont even turn on the fan at very high temperatures.)

I mean the world is pretty messed up already, so I understand the delay in rectifying this, but it has been more than 6 months since and this thing will bound to cause undue trouble to any random people using Windows 10 2004 updated rig. Not withstanding
the durability lost from overheating, but it is a highly potential fire hazard.

Who is going to be responsible if the laptop does burn up in someone's houses, especially during these times where most of us are indoors?

Long story short: Windows 10 2004 version update is a potential fire hazard due to modern standby, Please, I beg the Microsoft team, just come up with something so users can finally toggle that thing off so we as users can have a peace of mind using our
    rigs.

Question: Meanwhile, other than user solutions, is there anything coming soon as a patch from Microsoft?
