Windows 10: It's not you. It's us when trying to give consent to child account.

I bought a new laptop and accidentally choose the wrong date so it thought is was a child and I was prompted with consent screen. And following through the steps form this forms page. I tried everything from creating microsoft family , adding the child account and even tried giving consent to the account but it still says It's not you It's us. Spending 100's of $ worth of money and buying and new laptop when trying to setup you realise your simple mistake won't even let you open your laptop and microsoft is getting away from this without a proper error message but a very simple very frustratin

Just want to make sure these are the steps you followed. When you log into the organizer's account (https://account.microsoft.com) and click on Family, do you see your child's account listed? If so, click on the three dots on the child's icon and click on "Manage consent". On the next page, remove the consent first, then you can proceed to remove the child account.
