On an old Toshiba laptop running Windows 10, the iTunes AirPlay icon disappeared after the latest 2024-01 update. A Windows 10 desktop and a Windows 11 laptop on the same WiFi as the AppleTV I was expecting to access did not have this problem. Restarting the Bonjour Service did not solve the problem.I suspected that maybe there was a timing problem or race condition on boot of the Toshiba, which boots from a hard disk drive, whereas the other machines boot from a SDD. So, as a wild stab at the problem, I set the startup type of the Bonjour Service to Automatic Delayed Start from Automatic

Itunes Airplay icon not visible in windows 10

Thanks Anju. I reinstalled Itunes using Windows 7 compatibility options but it still does NOT show the Airplay icon.

AIRPLAY FOR WINDOWS 10

Hi,

Is there anyone else having issues with getting AirPlay to work in iTunes on Windows 10?

It used to work just fine, now I don't even see the AirPlay Icon in iTunes. Also, my third party AirPlay program does not work.

Any Comments?

 

Windows Update does it again: Disappearing Desktop Icons

Couple of things:

Disappearing icons during normal use is not something that Windows tends to do, so there's a problem somewhere on your system.

Leaving Windows Update for so long is asking for problems. Set the updater to download critical updates, but install only when you say so. This way, Windows will be kept up to date and the updates will be a lot smaller, reducing the chance of something going wrong.
