Windows 10: iTunes/Apple Music in Windows 11 is a disaster

Hi. Since moving to Windows 11 I've had nothing but issues with iTunes. Everything is glitchy and sluggish. The biggest issue I continue to have is I can't build playlists. They just stall out after selecting a track and generally freeze up the system. I can't even open the app once I try and add a track to a playlist. It just dies and locks me out. Apple tells me everything looks fine and the issue is with Windows. Never once had this issue on a Mac. What's the issue/conflict here? Thanks kindly.

Apple iTunes and Windows 10

• Have you installed the latest iTunes app?

If you have not installed the latest iTunes app then I suggest you to install the latest iTunes app and then try to download the song and check if the same issue persist.

Also I suggest you to install all the Windows updates and check if it helps.

iTunes won't connect to my iTunes Media directory

1. Uninstall iTunes completely. (I suggest using Geek Uninstaller. In my experience this does a good job of clearing remnants.)
2. Download and install latest iTunes from Apple, not Windows Store (Never use the Windows Store for iTunes.)
3. Check whether the Apple version allows you to point to your old media store.

iTunes/Music backup


Copy the iTunes folder (it's inside of the Music folder) to your thumbdrive. After you have clean installed, copy iTunes folder of your thumbdrive into the music folder of your clean install. Download iTunes from apple and install it and you will be all set. The iTunes folder contains all the music, books, apps, etc. found when you open iTunes.
