Windows 10: iTunes keeps failing in Windows 11. It refuses to load music which I have owned for years.

I am trying to load music into iTunes my PC. iTunes on my PC says that some of the music is not eligible and will not load. This is my music not Apple Music that I have owned for years and plays without issue on my 2 macs, iPad etc. Any ideas how to resolve this.

Prevent iTunes from loading on startup


Since I've upgraded to Windows 10, iTunes keeps loading on startup. I looked in the task manager under Startup, and disabled iTunesHelper. I don't see any other apps listed under Startup that are associated with iTunes or any other apple software.

Am I missing something? It's a little annoying having iTunes loading on startup.

2. Is the issue specific to a particular program?

I suggest you to try uninstalling ITunes by following the steps below and install the latest version of ITunes and check if the issue persist. To uninstall ITunes, follow the steps on

Once you have uninstalled the program, download the latest ITunes from the link below:

iTunes takes at over 9 minutes to load on Windows 11

I keep the Task Manager up all the time because I like to know what is slowing down my applications. I see the iTunes processes start when I start the app, but I don't see anything unusual.

I'd never seen "perfmon /rel" before. Cool tool. But I've started iTunes 3 times so far today and it doesn't show any incidents today.

FYI, I tried removing all USB devices, as well as Box and Dropbox. No joy. Still over 9 minutes to load. I left iCloud and OneDrive running because my stuff won't work without them. I'm mystified.

BTW, the length of time to load iTunes doubled after loading Windows 11. It took a little over 4.5 minutes to load under Windows 10. This suggests the issue might be with Windows.
