Windows 10: iTunes stops after playing 2-3 songs - brand new computer with Windows 11 Pro - fresh install

I have a strange issue with iTunes and am hoping there's a solution. I just purchased a new computer, a Dell XPS 8960, with plenty of RAM, etc. I have been running iTunes on Windows 11 Pro for a few years now and never had a problem on any of my PCs. I have been installing all my applications on the new computer and finally got to iTunes. I had some trouble with the install at first because Microsoft had transferred application data from a backup file when I first booted the new system up. That's a whole other can of worms. I had to get the old "install" off in order to install iTunes fresh

Some WMP songs will not return to itunes library

When I try to access specific songs in itunes it says "file location not found" yet I can call the song up on wmp and listen to it.
Sometimes when I list the album in itunes the song is missing and other times it is grayed out. I am trying to put music to a video but I can only do it through itunes. Does anyone have any suggestions. I have spent too much time watching facebook videos on how to sync these two programs

 

Playback iTunes AAC media file

I'm getting the same error "Can't play. Try signing in with your Windows Live ID or try syncing again." I'm using iTunes 10 and have a Samsung Focus. Most of all the files that I've ripped from CDs are in .m4a, some purchased through iTunes and a few .mp3.
I've tried uploading randomly different songs and albums; purchased from iTunes, ripped by me in .m4a or .mp3 and get inconsistent results.

When playing one album I ripped in .m4a:

1. Upload successful to phone (files show in Connector under "Browse Device"

2. Launch Zune

3. Touch "music"

4. In artists list, touch > [Artist name]

5. In albums list, touch > [Album name]

6. Get "Can't Play" error and the display scrolls through the songs in the album without any touch by me

When doing the above with a different album, follow same steps but at step 6:

6. Get "Can't play" error and the display scrolls through the songs in the album, stops and plays one song.

7. Stop song

8. Try restarting song but it won't play

9. Exit Zune

10. Return back to Zune

11. Go through steps 3-6 but this time no songs play at all.

The repro results, as stated, are not always repeatable for .m4a files.

Another slightly funky thing that happens is that not all songs from a single purchased iTunes album make it to the phone on sync. I'm not sure if some songs are DRM protected.

Hopefully there will be a fix soon without the need to convert my files or re-rip.

 

How to stop iTunes from auto-playing a song
