Windows 10: I've been unrightfully locked out of my own laptop with my PIN unable to my entered right...

Exactly what the titles says. Tried out a new mouse I got for my laptop, and then I decided to restart the thing because it said there was an update on the way. When I came to turn it on again it said it didn't let me sign in. "Something happened and your PIN isn't available. Click to set up your pin again" it said, and despite going through with this it still didn't let me sign in. I didn't want to have to try and hack my way through the frankly unfair lockdown, so I came here to report the problem. This is not fair in the slightest and I don't know what provoked this sort of response from my

• Are you able to enter password to login?

I would suggest you to follow the steps given below and check.

Step1: Boot your system in safe mode.

Refer:

Start your PC in safe mode in
Windows 10

If you are able to boot into safe mode update display drivers.

Step 2:
Update display drivers.



a. Press Windows + X, Click
Device Manager.

b. Expand Display
Adapters.

c. Check if the name of the graphic card is the list.

d. Right click on the Display Adapter’s name and click
Update.

e. You may reinstall the drivers from Computer Manufacturer’s website.

Unable to go into safe mode to change pin

In order to get clarity on this issue and assist you with appropriate troubleshooting steps, please reply with the answers to the questions below.

1. What is the error that you are getting after entering the PIN?
2. Is there any other administrator user account on the laptop?
3. Are you entering the correct PIN?

If you have signed in with your Microsoft Account, I suggest you to follow the steps mentioned in
How to recover your PIN and password from the lock screen and check if this helps.

If you are not able to recover your PIN or password, then the only way to login to your laptop is to do a
Custom Installation of Windows, in which you will lose all your applications; however, your user data like pictures, videos, documents, etc., will be saved in Windows.old
folder.

PIN incorrectly entered locked out hp laptop. Keyboard doesnt type on screen

I entered PIN wrong too many times and got locked out hp laptop. Unable to type in special phrase (cursor just blinking in box as i type in special phrase). locked out of laptop and frozen keyboard HELP ME!!!
