  1. I've built a PC! Is there a way to have all files relating to my games/certain applications...

I don't know if I'm in the right subreddit, title describes most of my issue. I noticed after "Deleting" a game or certain programs from my HDD on my PC that there were some residual files left in my SSD under places like \appdata or \programfiles. And sometimes when I delete those files they just show right back up on my next reboot. Here are the places I've found so far where residual files have been left after "Deletion" (Note: I've already managed to move my Photos, Videos, Music, and Documents files over to my HDD):

    E:\Documents

    C:\Program Files

    C:\ProgramData

    C:\Users\<User-id>\AppData\Local

    C:\Users\<user-id>\AppData\Roaming

I'm sure I'm only scratching the surface here. I just hate the idea of downloading a file or game, hating it, deleting it, and it just leaves files all over my PC like it's nothing.

Example: I downloaded Oculus to try out VR. I realized I'm not going to use it that often and decided to delete it from my HDD. But there were still files all over my SSD titled "oculus-this" or "oculus-that" after uninstalling it. Kind of wish there was a way to keep the entire Oculus program contained in a single file folder, so if I delete that it's gone. None of this leaving files behind for me to clean up nonsense.

Is this possible? Would that sort of thing affect gameplay/performance?

    Any help would be appreciated!

  2. Unable to download certain applications

    Hi,

Thank you for getting back with a reply.

This issue may also happen due to system file corruption. I suggest you to run System file checker. System File checker (SFC) scan is done to check if there are any corrupted system files that could be causing this issue. Kindly
    follow the below given steps:

    • Press Windows key + X, select
      Command prompt (Admin)
to bring up elevated Command prompt.
    • In Command prompt type sfc/scannow and press enter.
    • Restart the computer.
If no corrupted system files were found in the previous state, then I suggest you to try the following steps:

    • Open command prompt by pressing Windows key + X and selecting “Command prompt admin”.
    • In command prompt, type the following commands and press Enter after each command:
    DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth

    DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

    • Close the command prompt and restart the PC and check if it works.

Hope the information helps. Keep us posted on Windows related queries and we will be happy to assist you further.

I've built a PC! Is there a way to have all files relating to my games/certain applications...

    Application related

    Hi Suresh,

For us to better assist you, we need to ask a few questions:

    • What application were you trying to open?
    • Were there any changes made before experiencing this issue?
    • Does the same issue happen when you access your account from a different computer?
    • What troubleshooting steps have you tried so far?
When you receive an application-related error message like "esrv.exe not executing properly", it is likely that you registry has suffered fragmentation and has accumulated invalid entries which affects your computer's performance. To help resolve this issue,
you would need to clean your registry.

Looking forward to your reply so we can find the best solution for you.

    Thank you.
