    I've recently fallen victim to a malwareor ransomware which I'm not sure of attack on my personal computer. Consequently, various elements like Windows Security Center and the Group Policy Editor have been rendered inactive. Furthermore, all my drives, except C drive, have been both locked and encrypted most likely to be BitLocker. I've attempted to modify advanced sharing settings to adjust permissions, but unfortunately, I haven't seen any positive outcomes from these efforts. This marks my first experience with such an Incident. I urgently need assistance with data recovery, especially

    I realized your concern and will assist you to resolve the issue.


    • How did you noticed that user is still able to access the drive?

    • Did you log into the local user account and check the permission?
    I suggest you to follow the steps below to restrict the user.

    • In File Explorer, right click on the drive which you want to restrict.
    • Click Properties.
    • Click the Security tab.
    • Click on Edit to change the permissions.
    • Uncheck all the permission for system.
    • Click OK and make sure the change is applied to all subfolders and files.
