Windows 10: Ive set .exe to open through java, how do i undo this

Discus and support Ive set .exe to open through java, how do i undo this in Windows 10 Network and Sharing to solve the problem; I've accidently set all .exe files to open through a java.exe file, this happened after trying to set a .jar file to open through Java, and now i cant...     Ive set .exe to open through java, how do i undo this


    I've accidently set all .exe files to open through a java.exe file, this happened after trying to set a .jar file to open through Java, and now i cant open anything that isnt a system app, or what i had open prior to this grand blunder

    java wont open new webpage containing report in IE 11 on windows 10 OS

    steps

    1. I login to TFMS website

    2. I go to link that contains a report and I click on it to open

    3. running security scan box opens followed by java box that closes after 1 second and nothing opens

    4. the first attempt it wants to download file labeled frmservlet.jnlp

    jnlp files are already set to associate with java web viewer

    website is in java exception list

    JNLP/MIME association is set to always allow

    ive also tried uninstalling 64 bit java

    So far nothing works any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Problem started when we were forced to upgrade to Java version 8 upgrade 211

      Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Settings >
      Restart.
    • After your PC restarts, you'll see a list of options. Select 5 or F5 for
      Safe Mode with Networking.

    1) What exactly you are trying to do with java/ do you receive any error message related to java, while trying to open Microsoft Edge?

    2) Do you receive any error message when trying to open Internet Explorer?



    I would suggest you to follow the below steps and check if it helps.

    Step 1: Clear caches and cookies of Internet Explorer.

    Follow the steps below:


    • Press Shift + ctrl + Delete key on your keyboard.

    • Mark check on cache and cookies and click on Delete button.
    Step 2: Run Printer troubleshooter.


    • Type troubleshooting in the search area on the taskbar and select
      Troubleshooting.

    • Select Troubleshooting.

    • Select View all on the top left corner.

    • Click Printer.

    • Follow the on-screen instructions to run the troubleshooter.
