SSD Detected - Secondary Drive (Hard drive) is not

Ever since doing a fresh install of Windows 10, in "This PC", my secondary hard drive is not in the list. I have already tried right clicking "This PC" and clicking Manage -> Disk Management, but there is nothing there except my SSD with Windows 10 installed.

I have tried changing SATA cables, SATA ports, but it still does not appear in This PC. I have also tried installing my hard drive on a another computer to see if the files were corrupted. They were not, all files were still the same before the installation
of Windows 10. I did not leave the hard drive plugged in during the installation.

In the BIOS, my computer recognizes both my SSD and my hard drive, but in This PC, it's still missing.

Anything else I can do? Thank you!

 

Can a SSD Hard drive be installed in a IDE laptop

install ssd on a compaq nx6110

I've managed to get my old laptop(compaq nx 6110) running on a ssd hard drive but got a MLC SSD should have got a SLC SSD(twice the price). Now its speed is 80mb/s could have had 130mb/s. But still it's running faster than my old harddrive with windows 7. Once again being used. If anyone's intrested on how this is done will update post.

 

install Windows 10 on new ssd Hard Drive

Hi,

i have Dell laptop - inspiron 15 series 3000.

i bought it with original Windows 10 install at it's SATA Hard Drive.

now , the Windows 10 load very very slowly ~5 minutes and i thought to buy SSD hard drive.

when i bought the Laptop windows was load ~2 minutes.

i have few questions :

1. is it possible to load WIN10 faster at the current SATA Hard Drive.

2.if i choose to replace the SATA Hard Drive at new SSD Hard Drive,how can i perform the WIN10 installation ?
