I've looked all over the internet but haven't found a result with an answer to my problem, I've installed the geforce rtx 4090 laptop gpu in the hopes that I wouldn't face a bsod again in the near future, however, the device manager still displays my geforce rtx as 2060, I've tried restarting my laptop several times and attempted to update my driver using the geforce experience client but no luck on either

    :)

NVIDIA graphic driver updated but device manager shows incorrect version

The driver version number is what matters. Have you checked the driver version in Device Manager or dxdiag > Display tab ?

I believe the date shown in Device Manager and dxdiag is the date the driver was completed, not the date it was released or installed.

eg - 440.97 (what I have installed atm) was released 22 Oct, but the date shown in dxdiag and Device Manager is 16 Oct.

The numbers to look for are the last four, so with 440.97 you would see 26.21.14.4097

"I would like to install it via the device manager."

Nvidia advises not to use Device Manager (in the driver Release Notes ) to uninstall or install their drivers .

Best practice for graphics drivers is to uninstall via Programs and Features or App & Features. Then reboot and install the new driver.

Reboot again after installing the new driver.

I've updated my nvidia graphics driver but the device manager displays the incorrect...

Nvidia driver doesn't detect the graphic hardware

Did you notice that on Device Manager the Display adapter doesn't appear ?

And I tried installing the latest driver from Nvidia site and it didn't detect any compatible graphic hardware
