Windows 10: Japanese IME Input "is not ready yet", Language download gets stucks in Pending and never...

I have a new installed system in a brand new SSD after problems with my old drive, I needed the Japanese input keyboard so I had set to download it a few days ago. Today when I needed to use it i'm unable to switch to kana typing, i get the notification pop up message: "Japanese IME is not ready yet. Please check the status from language settings".Doing so on the language settings says that the language pack is still on "Pending", clicking details shows the Basic writing, Handwriting and Speech downloads to "Searching for language features". It never finishes, I had assumed it had downloaded d

Thanks for the suggestion. However, there's no difference if Japanese or English is set as the default language.

The problem arises because within Japanese IME, there are still two options of language input, hiragana and the Japanese-version of English. It's the latter that Japanese defaults to, and I'd prefer it default to hiragana input. I've looked all over but can't seem to find an option for that : /

I've downloaded the Japanese pack in the preferred language, but I can't use the Japanese characters on the keyboard.

I've seen some suggestions and have tried some suggestions such as removing the japanese pack, checking it in Windows PowerShell, it says there too

installed Capability Identity : Language.Speech~~~ja-JP~0.0.1.0

State : Installed

but after re-downloading, the notification "Japanese IME is not ready yet" is still there.

can I solve this problem?

Please follow the below steps

Luckily, Windows 11 is not so different from the older OS and all the solutions can be applied to the new OS.

Make sure that you set the Japanese IME as the default language, reinstall the Japanese language pack and run the keyboard troubleshooter if necessary.

The Japanese keyboard IME not working on Windows 10 & 11 issue can occur if the language pack is corrupted or due to incorrect input method configuration.
