    Hello I was trying to run a java based installer, when I tried to run it an error occuredI installed Java, everthing looks fine.     Java not working

    I'm trying to look at the trajectory of NEO's (Near Earth Objects) at JPL website. To do so, requires Java. I have the latest version installed and it is enabled to run content in the browser (I checked with the Java control panel). I even added JPL web address to the exception list to no avail. I've tried five different web browsers and they all spit back the error. Adding the JPL web address to the exception list was the only workaround that they provided. This is so frustrating!

    • Which browser are you using to install Java?
    • What is the issue you are facing while trying to install Java?

    Trying to make Java work on Windows 10

    First, go here:
    https://www.java.com/en/download/installed.jsp
    and verify java is installed and working.

    I.e. separate the issues of java and optifine. If that test is ok, Java should be ok. The problem is then how you handle your applications.


    Optifine is (apparently) distributed as a .jar file.
    It does not appear straightforward. See below.

    This: (which I found by searching for 'optifine java install') may give you another approach:

    Once resolved, decide if you actually need Java installed.
