    How come we don't hear about JBOD with Windows? Does Windows support JBOD well?

    I have a bunch of unused drives sitting in my closet. They are different sizes, some 2 TB, 4 TB, some 6 TB, so I really can't build up a RAID array. So I was wondering about JBOD, as a way to use these drives at full capacity in some low-cost enclosure.

    Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

    Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK

    RAID and JBOD on same controller?

    Straight forward question. Let's say I've got a motherboard that has 6 SATA ports on one controller. Can I have 1 or two drives in JBOD and the rest in RAID or do they all have to be the same configuration?

    I believe this is called matrix RAID, but don't know howto tell if a motherboard has this feature, or if it's so commonplace that it isn't listed as a feature.

    Unlocked Realtek HD Audio Drivers Windows 7 & 8 (With Dolby Digital Live and DTS Interactive)

    DTS supported natively by Windows 8/8.1 and it should work on windows 10 too just DDL require to unlock your driver .
