Windows 10: Jewels of Rome Match 3 game from Microsoft Store - Game not working properly

Wondering if anyone is having the same problem as me with this game and has any ideas on a 'fix' for it. I'm running 'Jewels of Rome' on Windows 10 laptop for almost a year. Installation and game play has been fine up until late 2019.


Twice once around Nov/Dec 2019 and now from end of March 2020 I have opened the game as usual to find that it opens but is extremely slow to load. Once opened the animation is running so slow and staggered it makes it impossible to continue playing.


The first time I just left it till Feb and it had somehow righted itself. This time it won't.


So I've tried the following: I already have my 'updates' set to automatic but...


Manually checked for / installing game updates on Microsoft Store. There doesn't seem to be one.

'Troubleshooting Apps from Microsoft Store is a nope.


I contacted the game company who then replied asking for the exact same info I had already provided them. So they where of no help at all. They also added that resetting / re-installing the app wouldn't result in losing my game data which actually as far as know would !!


My laptop is already updated with the latest Windows 10 update.


Just mildly annoying as I don't ever use 'real money buy-ins for games but I don't want to have to start the game again from scratch. Be grateful for any ideas if anyone has had this problem and fixed it.

PC game JEWEL MATCH TWILIGHT series ( 1, 2 and 3 )

If you were able to install the game properly, then that would mean that there is no problem with compatibility. Have you tried reinstalling the game just to make sure you have the correct set of components for the game to launch properly?

I would also suggest performing a clean boot before reinstalling the game just to make sure that there are no third party services causing issues with the files or components of the game.

Jewel Match Twilight does not work after reboot

This game worked perfectly in Windows 8. I have upgraded to Windows 10.

When I install the game, it works, as long as I do not reboot the machine. However when I leave the computer on for several days, it loses its way; and I have to reboot and reinstall.

The Compatibility Troubleshooter has tried all previous version emulators, to no avail.

Is there a workaround I have not tried?

For us to make sure that the failed download will be remove from your device, please follow the steps below:

Step 1: Uninstall the game on your device.

Click this link for the steps.

Step 2: Run the troubleshooter for Windows apps.



Check this link for the app troubleshooter.

Step 3: Reset the Windows Store to clear the Store cache.

• Press Windows key + X on your keyboard.   
• Click on Command prompt (Admin).   
• Type wsreset.exe, and then hit Enter.   

Step 4: Reinstall the game again.
