Windows 10: JMB38X SD/MMC Host Controller - Win 10 driver needed

Hi

Successfully completed a clean reinstall with no problems, this time it picked up my Nvidia 310M graphics card (will update my other thread) and installed the latest driver for it.

Only one remaining issue and that is a driver for the JMB38X SD/MMC Host Controller. Have done a google search but can't find anything I can trust to be the appropriate Win 10 driver. One site called "Driver Scape" lists a driver, version no. 1.0.72.4 as Win 10 32bit & 64bit supported but it's release date is 31.07.2012!

I'm tempted to try it but as I don't know the site my head is saying be suspicious. Anybody know or have experience of Driver Scape? I guess the alternative is to just wait and see if a driver is eventually offered via Windows Update.

Any suggestions or advice welcome.

Getting Bad_Pool_Header Blue Screens

3 of the crashes were caused by AVG IDS Application Activity Monitor Driver(avgidsdrivera.sys)

Completely remove AVG AV and the other associated applications and use built in defender to confirm that the issue was with AVG itself.

Also the following needs updating:

• Agere SoftModem Driver
• Intel Management Engine Interface
• JMicron JMB38X Memory Card Reader Driver

• JMicron OHCI Compliant IEEE 1394 Host Controller Driver

Won't read SD CARD windows 10

Below is the result of following your Step 1. So my issue of Windows 10 not reading the SD is still not resolved. How come the required driver to allow Windows 10 to read the SD in my computer was not installed during the fix?

"There is a problem with the driver for USB-IF xHCI USB Host Controller. The driver needs to be reinstalled."

 

try this
JMicron JMB38X SD/MMC/MS/xD Host Controller - Software Informer. JMB38X is product family that includes 1394a OHCI and Memory Card Reader.

 

Thanks for this, tried it but it failed to install. Got the message that Windows couldn't find a driver despite me pointing it to the extracted folder. I guess I'll just have to give time and hope that a win 10 compatible one appears from somewhere.

 

I will upload you a driver that i was able to install successfully on one of my pc's sometime later when i pull that pc out.

And then follow the second entry in the list (for device ID 0x2382):
