Joining homegroup. My PC updated now can access Homegroup how to i fix this?? Can access shared printer or Files any more.

Homegroup networks are created mainly for sharing files and devices with other computers. We'd like to learn more about you concern so that we could provide the proper resolution. We just have a few questions for you:

• Did you receive any error messages when you tried to join the homegroup?
• Who created the homegroup?
• Do you have the homegroup password?
• What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?

Hi,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

We will surely assist you with the issue.

I request you to follow the below steps:

• Delete the file Windows/ServiceProfiles/LocalService/AppData/Roaming/PeerNetworking
  from all Homegroup computers.
• Shutdown all the computers.
• Reboot the main computer.
• Now you will be able to start a new Homegroup.
• When you turn on the other computers they will get invites from the main to join.
• Enter new password.

Can't join a HomeGroup

Thanks for the suggestions. I tried one by one but the new Windows 10 computers would not allow me to get the password since they had not joined the network HomeGroup on the upgrade so they could not access the password.

However, I have a Laptop running Windows 7 that was networked to the HomeGroup before the update of the Desktops. So I went to it and proceeded to get the password from the "View or print the HomeGroup password," once I had it it was no problem to join the
HomeGroup network. I would advise people that have a home network to get the passwords before upgrading to Windows 10 so when the upgrade is done they can easily join their HomeGroup.
