  1. JPG files open as wallpaper background rather than just as pictures

Whether the jpg file is stored on the laptop internal drive or on a USB drive or microSD card, I can't just open it as a picture or save it to another location. Instead, when I try to view the file it opens to the desktop display as a wallpaper background. This happens to every document that I've scanned or that I've received as a scan -- I can't view it as a document where it is --- it shows up as wallpaper.

Text documents saved as texts show up like they are supposed to, but scans and pictures auto run to the desktop wallpaper.

    I'm stuck.

    :)

    Hi Bruce,

Thank you for contacting Microsoft Community.

I suggest you to follow the below steps for the time settings of pictures.

    • Press Windows+X and go to control panel.
    • Click on personalization.
    • Then go to background option.
    • Under background tab select slideshow option.
    • Then you can choose the time limit accordingly.

  3. Changing the background in Windows 10 from picture foders created on the hard drive?

    Hi,

Sorry for the delay in response

I would suggest you to try the following steps:

    • Open Desktop Background by right clicking on the desktop clicking Personalization

    • Click the picture or color that you want to use for your desktop background.

    • If the picture you want to use isn't in the list of desktop background pictures, click an item in the Picture location list to see other categories, or click Browse to search for the picture on your computer.
When you find the picture that you want, double-click it. It will become your desktop background.

    Hope this helps.

JPG files open as wallpaper background rather than just as pictures

Bug using slideshow as background wallpaper

I've configured my windows to use slideshow as wallpaper and set the window theme based on color of the background picture. Using windows explorer, when the wallpaper changes if you are navigating through a list of itens then windoes selects the first
item from that list. Its annoying.
