Windows 10: .JSON files unable to open

So .json files, as far as my knowledge goes, are used for scripts, and once I decided to get such a script, however when I started it, it didn't work. So I tried different ways to fix it I now know the script was just faulty and one of those ways was to look at the code, and when I did this I opened it with Notepad, regular Notepad. However, once done this, I couldn't open another script which I got instead. Instead of running it, it just opened Notepad for me to edit it! I think that I pressed/it was automatically checked to always use Notepad to open .json files, so I thought it was a default app. So I went into settings, and erased all defaults, in hopes that it would work again now. However, to my dismay, it did not work! It just opens a pop-up windows which asks me which app I want to use to open it, and I have no clue! I have no idea how to fix this, please help.

JSON FILES

The steps above create a dummy exe file, which you point windows to open json files with, then you delete the dummy exe and restart, When you restart the dummy exe will not exist, so Windows will not know how to open json files and that file association will
revert to unknown and the icon should be the default white icon . ..

 

I accidentally changed json files to notepads.

Right Click a json file, select 'Open With' - 'Choose Another App', in the resulting list select the app you want to use to open this type of file.

If the App does not appear in the list, click 'More Apps', again check the list for the app you want to open this kind of file. Finally, if the app is not in the list scroll to the bottom and click 'Look for another App on this PC', then find the app by
navigating using the Open File Dialog

NOTE: when you find the application you want to open json files with, check the bos marked 'Always use this App to Open json Files' and clock OK.

From then on you can double click a json file to open it in the correct application . . .

why is there no audio when opening a json extention file? something about not supporting its codecs. thank you

It doesn't sound cool when you hear nothing when you open a file on your computer. However, let's isolate your concern by answering these following questions:

• What troubleshooting steps have you done to resolve your concern?
• Were there any change made on the computer prior to your concern?
• When was the last time you played a json file?
• Are you trying to play a json file from your computer?
• Is it the same with other audio files?
