Windows 10: Jump list for chrome not working after reinstall.

I uninstalled chrome and deleted all the associated folders, including the ones in the "AppData" folder.


Everything seems to be working fine, except now I cannot open new tabs and incognito tabs via the taskbar. I get this sort of error.

I have done quite extensive searches, and nothing seems to point me in the right direction.


Anyone have some advice?

Clicking item in jump list for Microsoft apps does nothing

On my Windows 10 PC, at first jump lists worked as expected but for the last 2 weeks if I click any item in a jump list for a Microsoft app it does nothing. For example, if I use the jump list to go to a pinned folder in File Explorer absolutely nothing
happens. The same occurs for Excel, Word, and Powerpoint. The strange thing is the jump list works as expected for Chrome.

Does anyone have a suggestion on how I can resolve this? I use jump lists all the time out of habit, so its very disruptive to my workflow having this behavior.

cannot turn off jump list

Hi Rohit,

To address this concern, we suggest that you follow these steps on how to turn off the Jump Lists on Windows 10:

• Go to Start menu, search Settings, then press
  Enter.
• Click Personalization.
• Select Start.
• Turn off the Show recently opened items in Jump Lists on Start or taskbar.

IE11 Jump List not working

Anyone having issues with IE11 jump list. I have IE pinned and normally right clicking it brings up a jump list but it's not doing anything now. I tried it in the start menu and get the same problem. I can launch it and use it just fine other than this. I checked reliability history and each time I try to access the jump list it generates a line 'Windows Shell Experience Host stopped working'.

Funnily enough I have a couple of pinned websites, facebook and amazon from IE11 and the jump lists are displaying just fine for these.
