Jump list not present on pinned start menu apps Win 11 AFTER KB5048685 and 24H2. I checked the Show recently opened items in Start, Jump Lists, and File Explorer toggle, did a system file scan, restarted Windows Explorer in Windows 11, rebuilt the jump list via %AppData%\Microsoft\Windows\Recent\AutomaticDestinations and also ran DISM scans. The PC is recent build on an AMD 9000 CPU, my Intel laptop does function correctly. The jump list functionality impairment affects MS Office 365 and paint. I've updated everything. For apps pinned to the task bar - the jump list works, for apps in the start m

Pin or Unpin Items on Jump Lists in Windows 10

Hi, Shawn. Been learning a few things. A solution to my "Pin file to" in File Explorer context menu problem. Not sure to call these jump lists or context menus. You may want to add this to your tutorial here, for it deals with the Office apps Start tiles' jump lists/context menus. Right click on an Office app tile and pin a recently opened file to the jump list/context menu.

Here's the Word tile list/menu. This works in Publisher, PowerPoint, Excel, and Access.

Anther handy quick list in Office Outlook.

    Attachment 136134

Even the Paint tile has a Recent list to pin a file to a jump list. I'd imagine any "creative" app will have the same.

If you don't want to add here, I can make a tute on the subject, that's if there is not one already.

Can't unpin excel jump list file from the start menu

The same jumplist shows wherever you right-click on Excel (or any other app that has a jumplist) be that on a tile in Start, pinned to the taskbar or in Start's 'all apps' list.

Right-click on any file name in the jumplist (like your ABC.xls) and you should see options to 'Pin to this list' and 'Remove from this list'. If the file is pinned to the list, you have to unpin it first before you can remove it from the list.

*Arrow Pin or Unpin Items on Jump Lists in Windows 10

If that isn't working for you, then it sounds like you'll need to reset the recent items that jumplists show. This will reset ALL jumplists, not just the Excel one, so only reset it if nothing else works.

  4. Jump list not present on pinned start menu apps Win 11 AFTER KB5048685 and 24H2

On upgrade to Windows 10 1607, jump list arrows no longer appear on start menu items

Jump lists are turned on in settings, but they only appear in items on the taskbar. Jump list arrows do not appear next to "most used" apps in the Start menu. This is a major annoyance, because I like to launch my Excel and Word files from the start menu,
and now the jump lists are only usable in the taskbar, which means I have to pin a bunch of stuff to the taskbar to have jump lists.

Is there a simple way to get jump lists active again on the Start menu?
