    Jumplist for Word on taskbar glitching Recent files not updating, and cannot pin OneDrive...


    On the taskbar, the popup list with recent/pinned files the jump list? for Word 365 isn't working right. It isn't updating with the last files I've opened, as of a couple of days ago. It also won't let me permanently pin any Word doc on my OneDrive. I can pin a OneDrive doc, but as soon as I open it, it disappears from the Pinned menu. I can pin locally saved documents, however.


    I tried this fix: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/msoffice_excel-mso_win10-mso_365hp/recent-files-jumplist-not-updating/163f08b6-1f86-4bf0-9350-94b723a39213 deleting some of the automatic destinations files, but all it did was remove all my pinned items, which means now the pinned items I had that were on my OneDrive I can't pin again, and the Recent Items still aren't updating.


    My Jump List for Excel is working normally and with OneDrive docs.

    Excel jumplist entries won't stay pinned

    I have moved my OneDrive folder from its default location to D:
    In my Excel recent files list I sometimes see two entries for a file
    One has the path D:\OneDrive etc and the filename includes the file extension
    The other has the path https://d.docs.live.net etc and does not include the file extension
    If I pin a recent file like D:\OneDrive etc then subsequently click the pinned file it disappears from the pinned list!
    This doesn't happen for a recent file like https://d.docs.live.net etc
    This does not occur for at least Word or Visio
    What if any is the consequence of opening a recent file like https://d.docs.live.net etc?
    Why are such files showing in the recent files jumplist, what are they and why are they missing the file extension?

    Not sure. I would open the local file (D drive) and right click the taskbar, right click the open file, and click "Pin to this list" That will pin the item as shown in my example below with "Electronics" ...

    Is it possible to pin recent doc to Word icon on taskbar?


    It's possible with WordPad so, I don't see why it wouldn't work with Word.
