Windows 10: Just bought a brand new laptop then 100% disk usage

Just bought a laptop, model is Asus X409JP-EK051t. It was working fine the first few hours but then suddenly, performance became slow and can't even open edge smoothly. After opening task manager, I see the disk usage at 100%. I've tried so many solutions in the internet but it still rests at 100%. At some point, it normalized and went back to less than 10% after disable defrag, but after a few minutes, it came back to 100%.

Is it possible that the hard drive is defective? Or am I missing something?

Computer slow performance inWindows 10 and 100% disk usage.

Original title : 100% disk usage on brand new laptop.

I recentley bought a new toshiba laptop with windows 7 pro.

Today I upgraded it to windows 10 and my pc is very slow now.. 100 % disk usage whole the time.;

I already turned off windows search , prefetch , Skype , chrome ... Etc etc

HELP ME !

Having disabled Windows search and Superfetch my son was still getting this problem on his i7 6700 Asus laptop with 1TB 7200rpm hard drive. Solution: I bought a brand new laptop which worked fine and
was blazing fast until... he activated his OneNote account on it. The new laptop immediately slowed to a crawl and showed the 100% disk usage error. I asked him to reverse all the steps he had taken in setting up the laptop, last one first. The culprit is
OneNote published by Microsoft Corporation and now included as part of the Windows 10 OS. I dug out the old laptop and booted it, It works fine until I start OneNote, disk usage immediately hits 100%, and when I End Task One Note it falls back to normal usage
levels. I did this a few times and the result is always the same OneNote = 100% usage.

 

100% disk usage.

Summer has ended and my girlfriend booted her school laptop for the first time in months, only for it to be so unbearably slow that it took several minutes to log in. She handed it to me and said "fix it"... that was 3 days ago and now I am here to humbly
ask the community what is going on with this GD laptop.

It boots and task manager reports 100%CPU usage, it then lags for several seconds and displays 100%disk usage with CPU usage bouncing between 30-60%.

If you leave it alone with task manager running it will eventually quiet down to a reasonable 0-5% disk usage, but doing ANYTHING causes it to bounce right back to 100%.

I have tried EVERYTHING.

• disable superfetch.
• disable microsoft search.
• disable updates and suggestive tips.
• updated to the most current version of microsoft. (it hadn't been updated since 2018 when she bought it.)
• reconfigured AHCI PCIE.
• changed energy options.
• disabled indexing.
• reset the virtual memory.
• ran disk defragment and disabled all scheduling.
• updated all drivers.
• deleted google chrome.
• Disabled all services that weren't microsoft services and disabled all startup programs (clean boot).

Still no change in the disk usage.

Its an HP Laptop model 15-bw0xx with Windows 10 home edition version 10.0.18362

after messing with it this long im considering replacing the HDD with an SSD but I fear that it wont fix the issue.
