How does Alexa get access to my contacts without my permission?

I understand that you are facing issues with Alexa accessing contacts

In order to get clarity and to assist you accordingly, please reply with the answers to the questions below:

• Are you able to see Alexa app in Start menu programs list?
  
• Have you been through privacy settings page (granting access for contacts, microphone, etc.) while setting up Alexa?
  

Meanwhile, I would suggest you to follow the steps mentioned below and check if the issue persists:



Reset app

Refer to the link given below to reset Alexa app

Once the tick mark appears on Reset option, follow the next steps given below

1. Open Settings (Windows +I)
   
2. Go to Privacy, and then navigate to Contacts on the left pane
   
3. On the right pane, turn off contacts permission for Alexa from the list of apps
