Windows 10: Just got a new PC, I set up my mic and I can hear perfectly fine but it's not picking up my mic

Just got a new PC, I set up my mic and I can hear perfectly but when it comes to speaking I can't hear myself my input is set to stereo mix realtek audio and that's the only option and all it does instead of picking up my voice is that it only plays audio from my computer such as notifications and videos not my voice I've tried fixing the connection and going through audio settings

Headset is working perfectly but mic is only being picked up very quietly

When I plug my headset into my pc (either via front IO or straight into the mobo using a splitter) I am able to hear perfectly however when I try and use my mic it is not being picked up unless it is basically inside of my mouth. I know this not not an issue with my headset as it works perfectly on Xbox. I have tried installing the Realtek drivers and changing all of the microphone levels but nothing seems to work. Any suggestions?

USB Mic Problems.

The next step is what I suggested originally. Try it in a friend's PC or take it to Best Buy and ask them to try it one of their PC's. Have to confirm the mic is working OK.

 

mic picked up but no sound

just yesterday my mic headset was working perfect. i do not know if my family members messed up anything but there is no sound being picked up even though the mic itself is. i checked if the mic is working by plugging it into a different device and it does
work. so back to the pc i'm having trouble with, when i try recording with the mic, all i hear is static. i tried uninstalling the devices and restarting the pc but that too did not help.
