Windows 10: Just need some a-ok's from you guys!

I recently got a new pc 10 days ago for gaming. Rigged with a high end Intel i7 processor and rtx 2070 Super. I have an SSD as my boot drive(as this pc was prebuilt) and today I had an disk error on the SSD. As I allowed the pc to repair itself, it repaired just fine. I checked system health, ran a virus/malware check through malwarebytes and windows security and everything is fine. Ran a game at all epic settings... Ran just fine(no problems)... I'm just wondering what caused this because I noticed nothing about a disk error at all before this. Am I the only one that has had this happened too??? I also checked windows updates and they are all updated...

PC Build Steps

Ok just because I like steps i am going to create some steps. Please give me the stamp of approval/disapproval

• Install system in case
  • Remember to connect SSD and optical to same SATA ports on motherboard
• Turn on PC
• setup HDD
• run blend test in prime95 for 30-60 min
  • run realtemp at the same time

• While in Prime95 test
  • if CPU goes above 70c in RealTemp, I have a leaky CPU
  • if my system locks up or blue screens, there is an instability in the system somewhere
  • if my system does not lock up or blue screen, my CPU is not damaged and I am in the clear!

What do you guys think??

 

Good surround sound headset

I know you say you're not that guy, but stepping into the $250+ range really brings a change in build quality that might have you never having to buy another set. Otherwise, getting 6 speakers with decent sound in a headset is hard, and that's what you are asking for, and I have no suggestions, but just a bump up the list. *Stick Out Tongue

So i can confirm that its working NOW!!!! YAY!!!!

REMEMBER GUYS:
you need to change permissions if you want it to work!!!!!!

this is how:
Start by right-clicking on the last sub-key which in this case is InProcServer32 and click on Permissions the Advanced then change Ownership to yourself.
Assuming you're on Windows 10 click on Change -> Advanced again -> Find Now -> Administrators.
Then tick the "Replace owner on subcontainers and objects" and also "Replace all child object permission entries..."
Click OK
Then select "Administrators" in the Permissions window you first opened and tick "Full Control" then hit OK
Do that to the InProcServer32 folder and the {42aedc87-2188-41fd-b9a3-0c966feabec1} ​in both HKEY paths

As for the reg file itself that i uploaded Right Click -> Properties -> Security tab ->follow the general steps i wrote above

AFTER THAT DO THIS:


Run regedit (start menu > run/search > regedit) and go to these 2 destinations:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Wow6432Node\CLSID\{42aedc87-2188-41fd-b9a3-0c966feabec1}\InProcServer32\
AND
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{42aedc87-2188-41fd-b9a3-0c966feabec1}\InProcServer32\

Double click on (Default) and replace "%SystemRoot%\SysWow64\shell32.dll" with "%SystemRoot%\system32\windows.storage.dll" in both file destinations.

Once done, restart your computer and see if the issues have been resolved.

**It is important to note that you need to have permission to change the value of these keys so in order to do that you must perform the steps stated below.**
