Hey everyone. I know next to nothing about how a computer and software actually work so bear with me please.

I just downloaded and installed the most recent windows 10 update and then blue screened on start up. The error message was “system thread exception not handled”.

I used safe mode to try to uninstall the updates but neither option would allow me to do so. I couldn’t restore to old backups. The next step google was telling me was to command prompt an uninstall of the update which again having no idea what I’m doing decided at that point to just bring it into a repair shop.

The shop told me there were known issues with the recent update and that they recommended a complete uninstall/ reinstall of the OS which I agreed to since I just want the thing fixed. Apparently Microsoft doesn’t warranty against this kind of thing with their updates?

So is this new update causing Problems? Does it warrant an OS reinstall if I’m stuck in the blue screen loop? And was it something I could’ve done myself and I did I waste my money?

    Thanks!
