Windows 10: Just reset my computer - OFFICE package is not installed , files are not intalled

1. Received a message there were corrupt files

2. Did Admin Common something and it said it found and repaired corrupt files.

3 Next day the computer would not start

4. It told me I had to reset the PC and then nicely walked me thru the steps. I made the decisions to back up everything

5. The computer did its thing.

6. After 5 hours it, when it looked like it was done I stared it and found the Office 365 package was not installed and I didn't find it anywhere on the PC , C& D drive, or (E) Turo hardrive.

7. Next. Microsoft then Installed its Updates


My files and OFFICE 365 Word, Excel, Outlook, etc. are not "restored". I think I see the file History on the turo hard drive. One that is current and one from ( WAY TO OLD) Nov. of 2018. The current one seems to look like it was made after they cleaned the computer and is useless. I had backed up the computer often the last week so somewhere there are my files.


Path Forward: I see 3 critical Items here :

1. I have critical work in my files that cannot be lost. I am afraid that Microsoft has screwed something up after I was super careful to follow what seemed like good direction regarding Backup and something will get lost or deflected.

2. Where are my Office 365 programs/apps and why are they not installed.

3. I need this PC back to working correctly now. WHAT DO I DO NEXT? I ALREADY DID RESET BUT IT DID NOT RESTORE AND RECOVER. I do not see any options that make sense.

Windows Installer Error: This installation package cannot be opened.

We are glad to provide the assistance required to help you answer your query.

The above error can occur if the locally cached Windows Installer package (*.msi) file is damaged or corrupted.

To rectify the above, I suggest that you try the steps mentioned below and check if you are able to install the software successfully.

• Open the \Windows\Installer folder on your computer's hard disk.
• Right-click any file with an .msi extension.
• Click Properties on the shortcut menu. The
  Subject box on the Summary tab contains the name of the product that installed the .msi file.
• Repeat steps 2 and 3 for each .msi file in the \Installer folder, and delete the .msi file for the software that you are trying to install.

I like to play the pc version of sims 2. On the home web sight, people have put some cool options to down load. They are coming on package files. I've got windows xp home on my computer, and they wont install for me. how are you supose to get the stuff in these files extracted or installed?
