Windows 10: Just updated my laptop from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10. Bluetooth is having issues connecting.

I have a HP Pavilion laptop that I recently upgraded from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10. I've also fitted a new SSD along with my existing HD.

There's a big problem with the Bluetooth connections. When I turn on Bluetooth, it is able to detect nearby devices such as my JBL Charge 3 speaker and my Bluetooth keyboard. But the problem is, when I click to connect to a device, it says it's connected but when I try to play music on my speaker, or when I try to type on my keyboard, it doesn't interact with my laptop.

The funny thing is, when I restart my laptop, it works fine within the first 10 minutes of restarting.

Please help, I've tried deleting or uninstalling certain Bluetooth drivers and all that, but to no avail. Please advise on my situation.

I suggest creating a backup image of your os drive

 

Bluetooth in windows 10

So I bought a new Bluetooth headphones the skull candy uproar since my old one isn't working. It came with only the headset and usb charging cable. The problem is I can't seem to pair it to my pc. I have windows 10 by the way. There is no Bluetooth on off button in windows settings. I went to device manager but there us no icon for Bluetooth. I did everything I knew but none of it worked.I can post pictures if anyone needs.An alternative might be a Bluetooth dongle but I m not sure I'd it would work plus I paid $50 so don't wanna spend more

I looked up on Internet and many people seem to have issues with windows 10 and Bluetooth. I thought of asking here knowing my UK friends are smart.

Anyone have any idea of how to get Bluetooth to work on my pc.

PS don't curse windows 10. I already know it's a mess and not a very good os.

 

Windows 8 failure configuring updates and reverting

I agree 8 is awful! It's not for me though... I replaced a broken screen in a Win 8 laptop that was given to me and I am going to give it for free to someone that can't afford one so they can do homework at home. Yes I took it from 8 to 8.1 back on 10/09/2014. This is what I posted there...

1. Step 1 should read to disable AUTOMATIC updates, not disable manual updates.

2. KB2871398 should really read KB2871389

I would like to say that KB2917499 may also be needed as it was in my case. I also had to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter after installing those 2 updates. After these steps I was able to begin my 8.1 download from the Microsoft store. I don't know if it made a difference or not, but I also went into the Bios and disabled "Secure Boot."
