Windows 10: Just upgraded to Windows 10, no internet connection

I have had the same issue with bitdefender.I rest the firewall setting and all seamed ok for about an hour then internet dropped again unistalled bitdefender and now its working fine again.is your connection still intact?.
I shall investigate the bitdefender forum to see if they have any answers but i won`t hold my breath with that site.

OK good. I have just been on the BD forum and reinstalled it again using this download link What To Expect From Bitdefender 2015 After Upgrading To Windows 10 - Bitdefender Forum recomended by BD and have set internet sharing to enable. I will test it again and see how it goes.
An interesting note: the set up using this link was slightly different than the automatic upgrade when installing Win 10.

Will report back after a few hours if O/K or not.

Deleting the "working" ethernet controller in device manager and then scanning for hardware changes worked for me also.

 

Yep after five Hours this seems to have cured the problem.Why the bitdefender automatic software upgrade did not function properly i don`t know, still fingers crossed.

i created this account primarily to extend a huge thank you to you willsy! i have two laptops and upgraded from win 8.1 to 10 on only one of them so i could see how things went. everything seemed fine at first. when i installed 10 on the second machine that's when everything went haywire. since i lost internet connectivity on both machines i thought it was the cable company. (i have been on this for six nights and a good portion of days too). i replaced the cable company's modem/router with better equipment but no luck. i bypassed the router, but no luck with ethernet either.

i reverted back to 8.1 on one of my machines and had wifi and woila, i had wifi & ethernet connectivity once again. my victory was short lived though because apparently the trusted security certificates were wiped from my machine. i couldn't even download them from the microsoft site because the site took me to was https and that rejected. in a last weary act of desperation i did a complete reinstall of win 8 wiping out all of my programs & configurations) and upgraded to 8.1 from there i upgraded to 10 again and everything worked--full connectivity.

i spent the entire night reloading programs and configuring settings getting ready to wipe my second machine when, for no apparent reason, i lost all connectivity again while downloading a program. in a last ditch effort before completely wiping both machines and starting all over with 8.1 as my final destination i read your post and it worked! of all of the hundreds of posts i have read during this last week's journey your is the only one that worked. i wanted you to know that you quite literally saved the day! thank you for taking the time to post your solution.

 

Willsy nailed it. This is exactly what happened to me. Once I deselected "BLOCK INTERNET CONNECTION SHARING" in Bit Defender, all the Internets came back. I owe you, Willsy!

 

I have been struggling with this for 2 days now. I've been all over the place. Tried different drivers, played with router settings for a few hours, played with any new and possibly related windows 10 settings that I could find, pulled most of my hair out, put holes in walls, wrote my will... until this.

Would you believe it, today I enabled Hyper V, on the restart everything seemed fine. Later I tried email and nothing worked, Firefox also failed to connect, checked my hub-fine, PC reported good internet access and no fault found. Spent around 4 hours trying everything I could think of all to no avail, according to the system everything was working but still no internet.
I borrowed my wife's laptop with the intention of asking here and luckily clicked on this thread.

Although I had not changed anything on BitDefender I found the same problem and switched off the Block internet connection sharing and internet was back!! *Smile

How or why this happened is beyond me. Anyway thanks a bundle pal *Thumbs

 

I solved it by going to device manager, locating Atheros Qualcomm wireless the digital signature was the issue clicked on the device and there were 2 certificates one with signature and one without. Selected the Signed certificate and enabled...working great now

 

Anyone been able to fix this problem without bit defender?? I'm having this same issue after trying to replace my network PCI card and now I can't see anything old or new card in network connections.... But do see them in device manager. I've uninstalled / reinstalled etc.

I'm running kaspersky and have tried turning that all the way off with no success.

 

May I ask did you solve your internet problems after you had upgraded to windows 10 and then went straight into your device manager or did you downgrade first and then reinstalled windows 10??

 

I have been having the exact same problem. Have been restoring my system, updating the Realtek driver, called hp support, to no avail. Happened to find this forum and uninstalling Kaspersky actually worked. I'm so happy I want to cry. Thank you sooooo much!!!
