Windows 10: Just wiped pc of all files and now there’s two drives with windows on it. Old install of...

The one drive that has the files that won’t delete is my SSD. It ran into problems with windows so I had to wipe my pc and for some reason these windows files and files like program 86 efi and more stay on this even tho I wiped my pc and had since downloaded windows to a different drive. I’ve tried the disk management methods and even the disk clean up naming the windows file to windows.old. It says that it’s deleting the files only for me to see them back on the pc two seconds later. I even went into my bios and tried a secure erase that ended up failing. Re-using old drives, how to wipe and re-use

Hello All,

I am building a new PC, everything is new except I am keeping my old ssd and hdd. Windows 10 is currently installed on my ssd. Before I transfer everything over and do a fresh windows 11 install, the plan was to

• backup and save data on a usb,
  
• then deactivate windows,
  
• then wipe the drives.
  

I plan on re-using the windows 10 key for another pc I have that I am building for a family member. Is this the steps I need to do or is there an easier way/ steps I am missing?

could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx

 

Replacing old hard drive, need way to copy Windows installation across

Hey Guys,
What would be the best way of copying/imaging the entire contents of an old system drive over to a replacement hard disk for the same machine? I need to copy the Windows installations and all other data to the new drive, and then format the old drive to use as a backup.

Any suggestions? *Smile
