    MS Media Player has stopped working after installing Windows updates

    I think the culprit is the K-Lite codec pack, at least in my case. On my secondary computer that was updated only later today, WMP was working fine with an old version of the K-Lite codec pack (9.5). It's only after I updated to the most recent update
    of the K-Lite codec (13.0) pack that I got the "Program has stopped working" message.

    Thanks Bill, I have always went with shark007 codecs. Have not checked to see if it's up to date.

    K-Lite Codec Pack 10.8.0 has been released and it includes compatibility for 10 TP


    • Updated MPC-HC to version 1.7.7.0
    • Updated LAV Filters to version 0.63
    • Updated ffdshow to version 1.3.4533
    • Compatible with Windows 10 Technical Preview
    • Added DirectX components that are needed by MPC-HC x64
