Windows 10: Kaspersky Update

The UK National Cyber Security Centre is warning against using Kaspersky software for systems related to national security - see UK warning of Russian anti-virus software

I've always been impressed by Kaspersky software but I have decided to stop using it.

The incompatibility with Kaspersky is confirmed over in Kaspersky user forum. There is a call for an update for Kaspersky.

What happens when you check for update?

Did you installed the latest version of Kaspersky?

Try update Kaspersky and restart your PC and run Windows Update again.

You may discuss this with Kaspersky's support.

It so ridiculous, that it does not even deserve any serious comment. I always go for facts, not for speculations. *Smile

Further to my original post Barclays UK, will no longer offer a free licence to use Kaspersky software. They say:

What you need to know
The UK Government has been advised by the National Cyber Security Centre to remove any Russian products from all highly sensitive systems classified as secret or above.
We’ve made the precautionary decision to no longer offer Kaspersky software to new users, however there’s nothing to suggest that customers need to stop using Kaspersky.

What should you do next?
At this stage there is no action for you to take. It’s important that you continue to protect yourself with anti-virus software. If you have any concerns, you could consider alternative anti-virus suppliers.

Just a PR damage limitation exercise from Barclays in response to the cynically motivated hysteria. Note that they say, "...however, there’s nothing to suggest that customers need to stop using Kaspersky." A bit disappointing that hysteria is winning, but it's expected news.
