Windows 10: KB:4559309 has ruined my computer

Microsoft has recently installed the Edge update KB:4559309 on my computer. Now several applications either run extremely slowly, close out unexpectedly, or just don't open at all. Additionally, it has severed connection to my external hard drive, making me lose access to to nearly a terabyte of data.


I've tried several methods of getting rid of this update, but each time, it tells me that it's a required update. I've attempted to do a system restore, but there is no restore point from before the update. I've tried going back to a previous version of Windows 10, but it tells me I can't since it's been more than 10 days since the last update which it hasn't.


I really want to take this update out back and shoot it. Does anybody have any other methods for uninstalling/disabling it?

Win 10 update ruined my computer

I will gladly dispose of any "ruined computer" that Windows 10 has "ruined". Just ship them to me and I will take care of disposing of the "ruined" hardware!

 

KB: 4559309 Slowing down gaming performance in Alienware

So I recently updated to KB: 4559309. Ever since this update, my system has started using very high CPU, especially while gaming. Main menu pages run at 1FPS. (Have an alienware 15 r4 with gtx 1060). Cannot seem to find a solution for this problem. Any
help in this regard would be much appreciated.

I haven't had to face that problem with any of my PCs yet. (Touch wood. [Old pagan ritual to avoid bad luck.])

You may ultimately have to re-install Windows, but I hope that someone can offer a less painful fix.

A suggestion: "Windows 10 update ruined my computer" sounds like a ranting post. There are many helpful people here, but they respond better to requests for help than to complaints.
