Windows 10: Kb311942

I received this update but when I try to update nothing happens.

What should I do just wait until it decides what to do.

This is an update to C++

Upgrade Windows 10/Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 Update

The above procedures did not solve problem. The Windows Update screen continues to indicate two updates are available:

- An upgrade to Windows 10 Home, version 1511, 10586

- An update for Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 Update 4 Redistributable Package (KB3119142)

A restart is required but the restart does not install the Windows 10 upgrade or Microsoft Visual (KB3119142 )update which remain on the Windows Update screen.

The update for Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 Update 4 Redistributable Package (KB311942) continues to install successfully and unsuccessfully. On 3/3/2016 it successfully installed, on 3/4/2016 it failed to install and on 3/5/2016 it successfully installed
again. I'm up to about 38 times on this success/fail to install cycle.

 

See if that helps................
Control Panel > Programs and Features > locate C++2012 > right click at it > click Change > click Repair.

After that, see if the update will go through.

Since I made this post this update has processed according to my update history 11 times. Every time I check for updates it appears, processes, then reloads. How can I stop this. Thanks

Go to #3 and click the blue link ......
Download and run the Windows Update Troubleshooter.

 

I tried that but all it does is make a copy and put it in the file.

By the way I did not receive KB3147457

Right click at it and click Open.

After it is saved, go to the location it is saved to > right click at it > click Open.
