Windows 10: KB3147458 Cumulative Update build 10586.21 for Windows 10 Version 1511

This update includes quality improvements and security fixes. No new operating system features are being introduced in this update. Key changes include:

• Improved reliability for Internet Explorer 11, .NET Framework, wireless LAN, Microsoft Edge, Windows Update, logon, Bluetooth, network connectivity, map apps, video playback, Cortana, USB, Windows Explorer, and Narrator.
  
• Fixed issue with connectivity of USB devices until OS restart.
  
• Improved discoverability of printers when a device resumes from sleep.
  
• Fixed issues with lock screen.
  
• Support for visual voicemail on dual SIM phones.
  
• Fixed issue with audio playback using Groove music and other music apps on a phone.
  
• Fixed issue with revised daylight savings time.
  
• Fixed additional issues with shutdown delays, Narrator, Cortana, roaming data usage, buying apps in the Store, video playback, facial recognition, Bluetooth pairing, Microsoft Edge, logon, Internet Explorer 11, Live Tile updates, .NET Framework, and Microsoft Installer (MSI).
  
• Improved security for CSRSS to address security feature bypass.
  
• Fixed additional security issues with Security Account Manager Remote Protocol, HTTP.sys, secondary logon, Microsoft Graphics component, .NET Framework, CSRSS, Microsoft Edge, and Internet Explorer 11.

 

Looks like Microsoft finally kicked it in high gear for 2016. Lots of improvements! Can't wait to see what's noticeable with everyday browsing experiences.

i have two x64 systems: one is home version, the other is professional: are there different versions of the update?

 

Please update this KB with cautions! After updates, my system won't open Edge and Start button won't work or with very slow response!!!

 

No the same one for both.

 

Good old MS, I've never trusted the 'updates'!!! Maybe leave your PC idle for a couple hours. I think there were net framework updates included which can prompt heavy background task action - once it finishes doing its thing perhaps your PC will pick up. Although it doesn't seem super promising because mine seems ok. If after that still no improvement do you have a system restore point you can roll back to?

 

I assume this cumulative update contains most other updates as well?

 

This new update changes my Date format to yyyy.mm.dd




I had to manually change it back to mm/dd/yyyy

Update installed. No problems so far. The update didn't change my date format. It's still mm/dd/yyyy
