KB3147458 Cumulative Update build 10586.21 for Windows 10 Version 1511

    Needhelpwithwin,
Use the Tech Bench link below and download the most current Windows 10 iso file
( note : I suspect your USB contains the old Win 10 version 10240. Current version is 10586 ).

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/soft...brrWLRbagYCa0w

Make sure you select the same Win 10 edition, language and bit version.
You do NOT need to burn it to an USB or DVD right now. You can do that later.

Once the iso is downloaded > right click at it > click Mount > click Setup.exe.
    Installation will begin.
    Let it check for updates.
    No product key is required.
    Activation will be automatic.

  2. Hi. Same IDENTICAL problem here.
After the update every time I shutdown/restart my PC I get some svchost and esent.dll related errors.

svchost (2072) Terminating process due to non-recoverable failure: PV: 10.0.10586.0 SV: 10.0.10586.0 GLE: 0 ERR: -1603(fucb.cxx:359): dllentry.cxx(103) (ESENT[10.0.10586.0] RETAIL RTM MBCS)

I already tried launch sfc /scannow and dism's scanhealth but it didn't find any corruption. Please help me!

  3. Thanks a lot for your time and patience! Sorry to being such a noob *Smile

I'm getting this new version using my affected PC! Firefox is launching OK and I'm downloading a file named: Win10_1511_1_BrazilianPortuguese_x64 this 1511.1 is alright? My system info says I'm in 10586 version. Sorry again for being a noob but I don't have a good internet connection and I want to make it right this time *Smile

Another thing: When I do the repairs KB3147458 will be installed but this time it will be without problems?

KB3147458 Cumulative Update build 10586.21 for Windows 10 Version 1511

    Download looks ok.

No guarantee how KBKB3147458 will behave in your computer.
I have no answer for that.

    adding...................
Your system says you have version 10586.
Question is : what version is in your USB flash drive ? I suspect it is 10240.
But it does not matter now. Just download the current version from Tech Bench and use it instead.

  5. Oh yeah why it does not say Home edition in there? I can choose in the instalation?

They gave me options like Windows 10, KN, N and single language I choose the Windows 10(first option)!

If there is no guarantee would it not be good to install it without any updates and that way I can avoid KB3147458?

Yes. You chose the right one.
Windows 10 includes both the Home and Pro versions.
When you start installing, the system will pick the correct edition your computer is currently running, which, in your case, will be Home edition.

Can you please share what you use to keep BIOS and drivers updated that is reputable and effective? I try to do this using Device Manager in Windows 10 , but am not comfortable using 3rd party update apps for drivers.

  8. KB3147458 Cumulative Update build 10586.21 for Windows 10 Version 1511

So sorry I'm so sad with this messed up situation that I'm more stupid than normal *Smile It is written there in my face!

Sorry to ask again but If there is no guarantee that KB3147458 will mess up again it would be better install it without any updates and that way I can avoid it right? I'm not a PRO but for me it makes more sense but I like to be careful and don't want to mess things more! So install with updates or without it?

    Also this:

I love games so this messed up PC right now is a clean gaming machine used mostly to watch Netflix and play games on Steam and I'm used to see ppl complaining about games not working with millions of strange problems that when I tried this said games I have no problems at all *Smile

I used to be proud to be a OK user but this time I'm the one with strange problems and most ppl are OK with it *Sad I would love to get some tips in how to avoid this if you guys can be kind enough *Smile

............... So install with updates or without it?
    With updates.

There ARE many users having issue with KB3147458. You are not alone.

As to "tips", I have none.
I am not an expert. I self-taught myself and as such my computer knowledge foundation is shaky.

  11. For the BIOS I use the make of my laptop which is Toshiba
For drivers I do use a recommended third party
Which I have now used for 4-5 years with no problems
    Auslogic Driver Updater
    It is certificated by Microsoft
You do have to pay a fee for it but it is worth it in my eyes
All the BIOS on all systems I look after are from the suppliers site
    Mainly I have Toshiba

  15. Of course! I'm downloading the updates inside the win10 installation right now but this things takes time here *Smile

I'm not going to complain since I'm using it for free but its a shame Microsoft did not made a patch that you could download it and fix at least some problems ppl have! Well it can't be easy to do that either so yeah.

Guess the best way to solve this problems is by doing what you guys instructed me to do *Smile
