Windows 10: KB4023057 2022 not listed for Windows 1809 x64 in the Windows Update Catalog

KB4023057 not listed for Windows 1809 (x64) in the Windows Update Catalog

Hi,

Windows Update offers "2020-08 Update for Windows 10 Version 1809 for x64-based systems (KB4023057)".

Normally, all updates are also available in the Windows update catalog. This one, too, for all Windows versions, but for 1809 it's missing:

Microsoft Update Catalog

Why? I've waited a couple of days, but it's still not there.

That documentation is either inaccurate or was never updated. If you cannot find it in the Windows update catalog, then it was pulled ... and probably for good reason as there are a lot of issues/problems surrounding this update. In fact, it is not even available
for download for business that manage updates internally (like mine) via WSUS. Also, it is worth noting that at the time of its release, 1809 was not yet available, so it may have been already "baked" into 1809. Either way, I would not pay it no mind.

 

KB4023057 after upgrading Windows 10 from 1809 to 1903

My 64-bit desktop computer running Windows 10 Home 1809 has been successfully upgraded to 1903.

After the upgrade, when running "Programs and Features" from Control Panel, I noticed that "Update for Windows 10 for x64-based Systems (KB4023057)" is still in the installed list.

As far as I know, this "feature" does not apply to 1903, so :-

1) Should the upgrade to 1903 have automatically uninstalled it?

2) Should I uninstall it?
